Tire Size Comparison

Results are estimates from a formula

Every number on the Site is calculated from the size code you enter (width in millimetres, aspect ratio, rim diameter) using standard geometry. Actual tires differ: the real diameter depends on the brand and model, the rim width it is mounted on, inflation pressure, load and tread wear. Treat results as a guide, not a measurement.

Fit and safety are not checked

The Site cannot know your vehicle. It does not check whether a size fits your wheel wells, clears suspension and brake parts, suits your wheel width and offset, carries enough load, has the right speed rating, or is allowed by your vehicle maker, insurer or local law. A tire that is close in diameter can still rub. Check your owner's manual and tire placard and ask a tire shop before you buy or fit tires.

Speedometer figures assume a perfect speedometer

The speedometer table assumes your speedometer is accurate with the current tire size and that it reads from wheel rotation. Real speedometers can read a little high or low, and some vehicles can be recalibrated. Do not use the table to decide how fast to drive; obey posted limits.
